Berlin
More than a decade after the spectacular fall of the wall, Berlin
still striving to be the perfect capital of the most powerful European
country and it wants to become a capital as the level of London,
Paris or New York.
Since the wall fall in 1989 the changes that have shaken the
city has been spectacular. Nowadays, the heart of the city is
in the east zone while the old city center has lost much of its
attractiveness.
Almost all the new town is already in place: the seats of the
parliament of the new Reichstag and Potsdamer Platz, before a
dead band area of the wall, now a lively quartet.
Berlin has had a troubled recent history: from imperial capital
of a belligerent Germany until the fall of the Berlin Wall and
the collapse of communism. These facts and the subsidies received
by the people, have turned Berlin into a city with an alternative
way of life (Art and nightlife were tremendously benefit).
It is an exciting time to visit Berlin, the European city that
has had more profound changes in recent decades.
